It was quite late in the day when we all tumbled back to our base position in the stands. Grabbing a quick bite and replenishing our dehydrated bodies, we contemplated the next move. While everyone rested I went around the gaming tables to see the terrain that had been set up.

THE GAME TABLES
The game tables were nothing much to write home about. I was quite disappointed. I thought last year there were many innovative terrain tables. Sadly I never even saw the massive Titan led EOT battle.

GATHERING OF FRIENDS AFAR

With pizzas in our stomachs and chocolate and icecream on our plates, he B+C mod squad and the mod support squad look on towards greater horizons. Much information was passed amongst us and plots hatched and plans laid for the future of the B+C and WH40K gaming.

From left to right: Brother Argos (David Johnson), Mrs Shadow Guard (Lavinia), Shadow Guard (Vijayaragavan Muralidharan), Theoderic (David), Mrs Amarel (Suzie) Brother Amarel (Jules), Kurgan the Lurker (Matthew Hunt), Mrs Lurker (Amy).
FINAL GOODBYES

With loot in hand and food filled belly
this happy band, we shall take the world, by jolly!
The day had passed very quickly and I had enjoyed myself quite a lot more than I had anticipated. We struggled through the exit doors carrying our hoarded loot towards a place for late lunch. As we left the NIA the final gaff was that we walked past a couple seated at the bottom of the outer stairs. I had walked passed and was looking back at the others while Argos was desperately pointing towards them from behind. I missed the message and after we had walked past it turned out that that was Andy Chambers himself. Drats!!! Feeling like an idiot, I continued on towards Brindley place in search of food.

Finally we made landfall at Pizza Express and settled down for a well earned meal. Mrs Amarel joined us in short order, having scouted the newly opened Bull Ring shopping centre all morning.
The final moments of the day saw us walk back to our respective vehicles and slowly drive off.

Much had happened this happy day. Despite the difficulties and shortcomings of organization of GD UK 2003, this has been the best GD visit for me. Why? because it had the most important element of our hobby. Friends!!

I was finally able to walk the GD with friends I knew I had, but had never met. I found in them a diverse batch of people who all had the same passion and were a joy to be in their company.

I did miss the fact that we couldn't play some games, but it was a fantastic day! Thanks to all those who made the trip! Both Davids, Matthew, Amy, Jules and Suzie, Brother Lorien (CJ), and Aurelius Rex, a big thanks to you all. You made a simple day in to a fantastic one.

Rest assured you will be seeing more of me in the future!
