Battlefields:

Next agenda was to satisfy my curiosity by comparing what I had seen and read on White Dwarf about the UK Games Day with the real event in Sydney. I thought I'd survey the battlefields and gaming boards. Not as many as the UK event but a few really did stand out.
I didn't take part in any of the participation games since there was a throng of little urchins waiting for their turn. Instead I continued to move around.

One participation game in particular caught my eye. What else but the flash on contrasting Eldar red and Dark Angel Green.

The game was progressing slowly but I enjoyed the the Dark Angels assault squads taking the fight to the vile aliens.
You can see some of the non-gaming battle scenaries created by the staff members. The Black Templars assaulting the Tau world in particular was a beautifully created setting. The clean lines of the buildings, paved roads and shaped gardens were so classically Tau I just had to spend a little time admirirng it
I introduced myself, a flicker of recognition perhaps passed the smiling face, and we shook hands. He had known that I would meet him today, as I had been in frequent communications with Andy H. Time slowed as the moment drew out for me, and an enormous event occured for me in that special moment. I had met the legend himself.

A moment later I was able to chat with thim about a few things, handing over the B+C T-shirts that I had taken for him and for Andy Hoare as a personal gift for revising the Dark Angel rules. These were the first T-Shirts to be printed with the B+C logo and I had bought a handful of various sizes. In fact my elder nephew wears it regularly these days. I however hated collar-less T-shirts and so cut out the B+C logo from one of them and had it hand senw to the shirt I was wearing.

The magic moment passed and it was time to move on and let others meet the man and fire their questions..

Then I spied the Games Designer par excellence, Andy Chambers himself. He was being swamped by Orks of all sizes, wishing their favourite codexes to be signed. The Codex Ors had just been released and many were there to get the signature of the legendary designer. I fought my way through the swirling horde to face off with the Chambers legend.
