GATHERING OF ANGELS CAMPAIGN
Background:

During the fall of the year 2002 news began to emanate from games Workshop of a massive online world wide campaign, the likes of which has never before been seen in the world. The setting was to be Abaddon's thirteenth Black Crusade. Little snippets of information were dropped to suggest that this massive onslaught was to occur at the Cadian gate, the gateway to the imperium from the Eye of Terror. Disturbingnews also began to circulate about the increasing activiies of the Fallen, particularly amongst the Agripinaa sector. Sightings and activities of the "Voice" which the unforgiven strongly suspected to be the arch heretic Cypher, was to becaome almost common place. Anticipating the coming storm, the unforgiven chapters began to mobilize in strength.

The group called the Inner Circle comprising of the six individuals detailed in the section of the same name, was formed. We gradually developed the idea of a sub campaign to be run by us, which would provide the Dark Angels players a more specific and richer experience. What we came up with was a tiered set of misions in fice parts, each part comprising about two weeks in time and five missions apiece. We would publish the set of five missions for each segment, each mission having specific objectives and occurring on specific planets. Players would register on to the Outpost web sites Gathering of Angels section and send in the results of their games. The same results of course would be submitted to the GW's EOT campaign. Once we gathered all the results for each segment, we would release the results along with the next segment missions which would have been influenced by the previous missions. Only dark Angel players would register so we depended on the honesty of the players and we were not disappointed. The results and outcomes we slewed to take in to account the players being only loyalists. The campaign as actually opened to the public one week ahead of the openeing of the GW EOT campaign.

As each segment completed, the narrative storyline would also be written by myself and published along with the results. In addition we also added a vast number of other projects by members of the Inner Circle to furhter enrich the experience. The final and very important action of the Inner Circle was to attempt to analyze and then advice the activities of the Unforgiven on a day to day basis based on the B+C DA forum.

Unfortunately, the famous "Outpost" web site is no more and although much of the information there was salvaged and transferred to the Fortress, the database containing the results of the individual segemnts has been lost forever. In this section I present to you the rescued protions of what records that remain of that grand campaign. More than 400 unforgiven players registered online. Much kudos go to Owen rees for setting uo the "Outpost" site to registration of players, acceptance and publications of results and generally hosting all the activity of the campaign.Every member of the Inner Circle took part in the creation and running of this campaignalthough not all their work has been retrieved to be displayed here. This work was acknowledged b Games Workshop is a short statement in white Dwarf # 286, where The Gathering of Angels is mentioned.
