Dragien, or Dragon as he is known to the Eldar, was once the captain of a mighty company of Dark Angels in the days of the Horus Heresy. He led the 15th company of the Legion and his was one of the many chosen to guard the Dark Angel home world of Caliban. Dragien turned against his own Emperor and Primarch just like the rest of the Dark Angels left on Caliban. When Lion El'Jonson returned Dragien and his company turned on their fellow Dark Angels just like the other defenders of Caliban. Dragien's company was guarding the Armoury at the time of the bombardment. Shells and lasers pounded the surface of Caliban and the Armoury was a prime target. A direct hit blew the main ammunition magazine inside the Armoury. The explosion could be seen from space and Dragien's company was all but wiped out in the resulting shock wave. Dragien and the few defenders joined with the 16th company and grimly held the wrecked ruins of the Armoury.
The loyal Dark Angels landed and their assault was incredibly intense. The shock wave from the magazine explosion had cleared most of the surrounding foliage and there was little cover. From the Armoury the traitor Dark Angels could train their guns and anything that moved. The loyal Dark Angels attack was so furious that ammunition soon ran low and the outer walls were overrun.
Falling back to the wrecked main chambers of the Armoury the traitor Dark Angels desperately sought ammunition. One by one the bolters clicked empty and the missile launchers ran dry. The vengeful Dark Angels approached, severely thinned from the desperate defence of the defenders. Like a trapped rat the traitors lashed out at their attackers in a desperate charge. Led by Dragien personally, the remaining members of the 15th and 16th companies charged. Pistols were empty and fighting was with the stubs of their guns and the points of their knives. Dragien proved particularly adept at fighting in this fashion and killed several loyal marines by throwing his knives.
Surprised and already severely depleted the loyal Dark Angels were overwhelmed in a tide of traitorous black power armour. This was but a small victory on Caliban for as Dragien pushed those Dark Angels back, Luthor was condemned to madness and the gods of Chaos sucked the planet clean of the fallen in a huge warp storm. Where the Chaos gods sent Dragien is unknown, it is just known that he has travelled through time and presents an incredibly wise and formidable opponent. Dragien was left with his company of the remaining marines and has waged a bloody war of guerrilla fighting with the fallen and his own trained mercenary army throughout the Imperium. His mercenary army has proved extremely troublesome foe the Imperium and the Dark Angels, who cannot catch Dragien's elusive army.
"You cannot kill me, I have seen how I die and it will not be to you. I have however seen how you die, my dear Colonel."
