Colour Scheme:

Black, with bone helmet and shoulderpads. Trims in dark gold.
The Angel Guard is predominantly black, with bone coloured helmets, shoulderpads and kneepads. In the absence of kneepads on some armour, no attempt to paint other areas are taken. The shoulderpad trims are made out of a dark gold coloured metal found on Radenna, which is very durable, yet somewhat rare.

Company numbers are displayed on right shoulderpad. Codex abbreviated from in terms of company colours.

The colours of the Angel Guard does not vary at all according to companies. One of the unique aspects of the Angel Guard is the tactical markings on the left shoulderpad, instead of the customary chapter badge on the left shoulder pad. It was a creed laid down by Caelius Bellator, that one should not listen to ones heart, but use cold logic in all situations. Thus he ordered the chapterbadge to be put on the right shoulerpad, in a way of exemplifying his idealsCustomary to the chapter is also the addition of a shield on the right shoulderpad, which has the chapter marking on it.

Famous Battles:

The most successful battle the Angel Guard have been part of was in the Segmentum Obscurus, on their way to quell a rebellion on a world in the western parts of Ultima Segmentum. On their way, the Angel Guard received a urgent call for help from a nearby system, as they were halfway towards their destiny. It was incredible luck, since the Angel Guard had just come out of warpspace to check a possible fault or fluctuation in the Gellar field on one of the strike cruisers. Accessing the situation, and with none else in any nearby sector to help the stricken planet (Ref. Khole and her moon Sabace), the Angel Guard raced the system. What they found was a world being overrun by orks, and the chapter made haste to drop down on the planet, and begin the purge. The orks ships were not prepared to meet the Angel Guard fleet, and were destroyed or routed in a short period of time.

During the first day of battle, Captain Dominus fell as his thunderhawk transport was hit by what is speculated to have been a grot manned flying bomb, which tore off the right wing and engine. Next in command was Chaplain Cephon, who proved to be a masterful strategist, and his mindful use of cover, and operating under darkness saw the Angel Guard clear the planet of orks in a week. The local Guard units were then able to establish a sweep system to take care of any left pockets of resistance.

Another of the famous battles was the annihilation of a dark eldar host, who deemed it suitable to raid the planet or Radenna. It would come to the Dark eldar as a surprise, that they had attacked a planet which was home to a space marine chapter. The Angel Guard fleet, which was in the warp at the time, was just arriving at in the system, when the Dark eldar made planetfall. As they were on the ground, Techmarine Seraphos, then only a century old, organised the batteries of the planet and the moon, to fire everything into the Eldar fleet. As the ETA for the Angel Guard main fleet was in a day or two, Seraphos knew if he cold cripple or destroy the Dark eldar vessels, the chapter would be able to annihilate the entire eldar host. The eldar fleet was taken by complete surprise by the sudden attack from the moon, and the well coordinated attacks from Radenna, and the fleet was all but destroyed. One smaller vessels managed to slip away under cover of it's dark shields.

The eldar slave raid stuck on Radenna, quickly figured out what had happened, and decided to take their revenge on the people. Among the people, they found resitance being hard, with small spacemarine squads mingling with the planetary guard units, bolstering morale and providing counter assaults as needed. A day later, when the fleet arrived in the system, the eldar were annihilated as the entire chapter dropped down onto Radenna.

The hardest defeat the chapter has had thus far was against the orks, who have become the Angel Guards most hated enemy. On the surface of Quivus secundus, an ork army led by Blackjaw Fingsnappa, the Empyrean Guard lost nearly half their number, and saw their then chaptermaster die in a heroic death against Blackjaw and his retinue. After the campaign, it took the Angel Guard 3 centuries to regain full strength.

The Angel Guard chant the following verse, as said by Caelius Bellum at the gates of Radenna, on the day the chapter had arrived at their homeworld For the first time.

Battle Cry: He is sovereignty in flesh!
We are inevitability and destruction!
Everything must return... to him!
