The Kurast Campaign involved over half the 1st Company. Six five-man squads were armed mainly with assault cannons or heavy flamers were assigned tactical roles in the campaign. Three five-man squads were designated assault roles and were armed exclusively with lightning claws, thunder hammers and heavy flamers. These three squads were provided with Land raiders for quick insertion and the added fire support. Two five man squads were given a support role and were armed with Cyclone missile launchers in order to target enemy armour and add extra support where masses of Orks threatened to overwhelm the other squads. |
The Six Deathwing Tactical Squads Four of the Six Deathwing Tactical Units are shown here. These make up the basic strength of the battle force. All were provided with their own Landraider transports for this campaign, creating one of the most formidable mehanized forces i the history of the chapter. Assault Squads and Support Squads The three assault squads were lead by Brothers Thieron, Bearach, and Bronte. They can be seen here deployed next to their landraider battlefield transports. The two support squads were lead by Brothers Tariq and Malak |
