BATTLE COMPANY STRIKE FORCES |
Fred Reed is a well known WH40K hobbyist, whose models, conversions and dioramas have graced the pages of white dwarf magazine many a time. It is a great privilege that he has given his kind permissionto display this army on the Fortress of the Unforgiven. |
Tactical Squad Gazdius
A single tactical squad was assigned to the strike force to provide mobile infantry support. Sergeant gazdius accomplished himself well, with a constant mobile action, utilising the abilites of his squad to the maximum. Wounded in close combat, he was promoted to veteran sergeant status following the return of the strike force. |
Devastator Squad Badden
In an unusual deviation from the norm, the second squad within the strike force was a devastator squad. Underscoring the nature of their mission, one of proventing an armoured break through by a traitor imperial guard regiment, their potent anti-armour firepower was decisive in battle. Their efficacy wasfurther enhanced by the protection afforded by the razorback, which was rmed for combat against infantry and light armour. |
Predator Annihilator
To further enhance the mobile anti-armour nature of the mission, a predator annihilator was assigned to it. Armed with twin linked lascannons in the turret and a further two single lascannons in each side sponson, the annihilator has the capacity to severely reduce the life expectancy of enemy armour on the battle field. Additional armour protected the annihilator from the expected concentration of fire it was sure to draw. |
Whirldwind Multi Launcher
Strike force Mortis was created as na ad hoc unit to rapidly counter and enemy armoured thrust. It's compositionwas significantly lacking in infantry support. To reduce this weakness, a whirldwind was assigned to the force, adding much needed fire power, especially against enemy infantry and light armour. Combined with its ability to keep pace with the armoured column, it proved a battle winning choice. |
