Master Menes and the Third Company Fast Reaction Force The Dark Angels third company dropship, 'Exodus' was prepared for launch minutes after the astropath delivered the reconnaissance message sent personally by the Master of the Ravenwing himself, Caiphas. The word had come that amongst the now barren lands of the once prosperous agricultural world, Treban's Fold, that one of their Fallen brethren was spotted marching alongside the Chaos Space Marine Raiders that had appeared to disrupt Imperial Order on the planet. The footage was captured by a security drone left over from the sacking of a security fortress that had been hit recently and repeatedly by endless waves of Night Lords. The visage was unmistakable, as if the Master and his trusted Interrogator-Chaplain were peering through a window in the past to the period of dignity before the Heresy. The disgraced marine wore the familiar black armor with the decorations of the First Company, but he was recorded mercilessly slaughtering man and child alike with his archaic pre-heresy marine weaponry, metal and ceramite twisted from the power of the warp. The Third Company Fast Reaction Force was immediately mobilized and loaded into the ancient dropcraft's bowels to be launched from the Dark Angels's battle cruiser and dropped into the atmosphere above the still-raging battles below on the surface of the planet. The Imperial Fists' standing garrison was holding the Night Lords from the Hive City central to the planet's population. |
