Stage 1: Base prep.
You need to gouge some cracks in the base. For this tutorial you should gouge five vertical lines which are parallel to each other. After you have done this, cut small cracks in between the lines to create the brick pattern. Ensur ethat the short segments are interspersed to represent bcobblestone bricks being laid in an alternating pattern, much like buildng a brick wall.
Stage 2:
Dab PVA glue in between the lines in the formed blocks to raise the surface. This will create the impression of uneven cobblestone having been laid down by manual labour. MAKE SURE NO GLUE GETS INTO THE CRACKS! use a toothpick to apply the glue if you need to.
