Squad Dire Shields Men: 10 Notes: The Dire Shields are drawn only from the most stout and relentless Dark Angels. Each one has already accepted death and acts as though their duty can never be completed. They refuse to yield to any force, forming body-walls and returning bolter fire, sometimes releasing the trigger only to put a fresh magazine in place. When an objective needs to be guarded, the Dire Shields are called upon by Taechalius without hesitation. Because of their role, they practice almost exclusively in ranged combat, falling back upon melee abilities only if pressed into it. |

After guarding Colonel Sepentair Omeck from a Tau ambush two weeks in the making, then holding off the alien forces until The Dire Swords and Brother Helveticus could arrive to drive the attackers back into the waiting Dire Spears and Brother Vaskus, Marcus found the Red Dragon. Squad Name: Dire Spears Men: 5 Notes: The Dire Spears are the sledge hammer of the Dire Angel's attack force. When their weapons speak, the enemy listens then dies. Under the eye and guidance of Malachai, they are deadly accurate, and with Taechalius' brilliant command, never does a single shot get wasted. They eat, breath, and sleep with firepower, never turning their attention from the spirits of their weapons. Staff sergeant Albian is also a fast and deadly officer. He never hesitates to fire and coordinate his squads firepower into the most devastating barrage available. After the destruction of the Dire Angel's two predators, it has fallen to the Dire Spears to pick up the slack and provide support. |
Name: Albian Rank: Staff Sergeant Wargear: Master Crafted Bolter, Lazarus Bayonet, Melta-bombs. Notes: Staff Sergeant Albian has served with devastator squads since he earned his power armor. First, as a support extension carrying a bolter. Then as a Corporal with a heavy bolter. Finally, he made Staff Sergeant and recovered his old bolter. His Lazarus Bayonet was created by Malachai after he saw the vulnerability of the squad in melee combat. The finely crafted blade has a pulsing energy wave that cuts through armor with ease, and his Bolter was refitted to fire the super-accurate Cleaver rounds. |
Name: Kishta Type: Whirlwind Weapons: 155mm Smoothbore cannon. Notes: Kishta is a hybrid, borne from Galinus' vehicle plant. Though its original purpose is unclear, the cannon on its back was perfectly suited for long-range artillery. The Dire Angels were quick to adopt it for long range support and enemy suppression. |
Name: Soul Harvester Squad: Dire Spears Weapons: 2 long barreled mega blast assault cannons, 2 mega blast missile launchers, a twin linked bolter, and thermal lens (counts as a spot light). Notes: The Soul Harvester is actually and ancient war machine created for the imperial guard. Its true origins are unclear and it seems to be a mystery to what is left of its crew. When Imperial reinforcements landed on Galinus, they brought with them a badly damaged Soul Harvester. Most of her crew was dead, save for the commander. The Dire Angels repaired her, and now crew her as well. Because of her armor and fire power, she transports the Dire Spears to vantage points, protecting them from lethal enemy fire. |
