Baal The world of Baal is somewhat unique in that it has two moons orbiting it, baal Primus and Secundus. Both Baal and its moons had earth-like atmosphere with fertile lands. The Baal moons were colonised and the people lived an idyllic life style, while leaving small colonies on the less hospitable Baal. At the end of the Dark Age of Technology, a terrible fate befell Baal. The events leading to it are unclear but viral and nuclear weapons were released in the atmosphere resulting in the near extinction of human life. Some survivors cling to life, surviving on meagre resources, even turning to cannibalism. Life style falls back to nomadic tribalism. It is in to this atmosphere Sanguinius' primarch capsule fell and was discovered and raised by the "Folk of Pure Blood" also simply known as the "Blood".
