Macragge This is the capital world of the Realm of Ultramar, the seat of power. It is a bleak and inhospitable world. However it had managed to maintain its' industrial capacity throughout the Age of Strife, continuing to build spacecraft and maintaining contact with adjacent systems. The primarch capsule of Roboute Guilliman landed here, and he was adopted by one of the two co-consuls of Macragge. Subsequently the brilliant Guilliman lead the Macragge forces in quelling border tribes, who were so impresed with his leadership, that they swore fealty to him. On his return, he had to put down an insurrection led by the other co-consul, and having buried his murdered adopted father, was crowned as the consul of Macragge. On the arrival of the emperor, Giuilliman recognised him for what he was and accepted his suzerainty and took over command of the Ultramarine legion, who were then based on Ultramar. The world contains the fortress base of the Ultramarines within which is the Shrine of the Primarch. It is surrounded by extensive orbital defenses, which are controlled and directed from the two polar fortresses, which form the lynchpin of their defenses. (Ref: Codex Ultramarines, 2nd ed;) |
