In M41.901 the Empire trembled while the Badab War took place as the Astral Claw Chapter lead the traitors of humanity in rebellion. It was in these years of crisis that a huge orbital fortress appeared from the Warp for the first time to stop the Necron incursion from the eastern part of the galaxy. As the imperium'ss efforts were concentrated on preventing the horror from another rebellion Adeptus Astartes many distant planets were left to their own devices. Manyfaced the terrible doom of being devoured by the unstoppable Necron death machine. On the agri-world of Modicia millions of unarmed people waited for the steel demons to invade from the sky. Suddenly unknown members from the Adeptus Astartes descended on shining wings of fire to claim their place as the last shield for the weak in the name of the sacred Emperor. They were the members of the Legio Divina Chapter. Those who witnessed the coming said that they were led by a leader of stunning features and evident might and was surrounded by a halo of blinding light. That day Necrons arrived only to be destroyed by the righteous fury of those angels who fought with grace and beat them with ease. As on one edge of the galaxy the Badab War reached the end, the brother marines from the Legio succeeded in destroying the Necron's main force in the battle known by Modicia's people as the "Rising Light". Since then the mysterious Legio Divina has been noted to travel around the galaxy on their Empyreum fortress deploying powerful forces of marines who always fought their battles with perfect tactics. Some members from the Ordo Malleus are questing even now to discover the nature of the force that resides behind this dark armoured marines. They have not appeared in any records of the Adeptus Terra, but their loyalty to the human race remains unquestioned. |
Organization Legio Divina has a unique chapter composition which consist of seven great fighting companies known as circles. At the moment Inquisitor Goliath references that he knows about the first three circle called Seraphims, Cherubs and Thrones. It is not always possible to know how many members each circle has the fighting squads are often composed of seven member's. The marines from different circles fight in different ways, united by the mighty Emperor's name. A curious habit amongst the Legio Divina members is to forget their name when admitted to the chapter ranks. They take one coming from the pages of the many books that tell about the deeds of the angels in the name of their Holy Father, wich is assigned by the chief Librarian in a ritual known as "the Rebirth". This could be seen as the representation of the brothers in arm taking their role when called to the fight. Moreover it maybe could be the reason for the strange situation revealed by Inquisition's investigation about chapter's history. The Cherubs Circle The second company from the Legio Divina ranks is known as the Cherubs Circle. The circle is lead since ever by Grand Master Gabriel, also known as the Bearer of the Holy Word or the Hand of Divine Emperor. Every fanatical brother who fights for Empyreum is usually deployed as a member of the second circle Amongst them there are many that have crossed over the thin red line which divides a daring warrior from an insane berserker. In the Cherubs Circle these are gathered together as Zealots and fight alongside the Grand Master or any other leader as his bodyguard and battle companion. These brothers are proud to use the finest and ancient plasma weapon to burst their enemy with sacred bolt of the emperor's light with little concern for their own safety, even though the empire's plasma tecnology is sometime unstable and dangerous. They never fall back from the battle as long as the blasphemous enemy is still alive and unpunished and are more stubborn more than their dead. Often veteran marines of the Inner Circle lead their brothers in battle urging them to superhuman efforts. Curiously marines from the Legio decorate their helmets with blessed white paintings around the eyes. This sort of religious war-paint on the armour seems to be what they call the "Regret Glance" every brother should bear proudly upon his enemies to give them the last chance to choose the righteous path before death come with bolter's chant. the Ignis crusade the unloyal spawn from Wordbearer Chaos Army used the tactic of sending a vehicle unarmed fool cultists filled with high explosives to embrace the razorback's front armour plate. Masariel's master-crafted vehicle is the only survivor of this unbearable kamikaze dance for its thicker front armour or maybe because the Emperor himself shielded it in his infinite benevolence. |
