Squad Aristophanes: During the Rufus campaign, Master Memnoch was accompanied by squad Aristophanes, the first squad of the Deathwing. The squad is lead by brother sergeant Aristophanes and honored with the sacred banner of the Deathwing company. The current bearer of the sacred standard is brother Idrael. Another exceptional member of the squad is brother apothecary Raphael. The assault cannon carried by brother Zephraim proved to be highly effective against infantry as well as armoured vehicles during the Rufus campaign. Squad Aristophanes teleporting to the battlefield next to a Leman Russ type battle tank, safely guided by the teleport homers of squad Casmaron, and immediately destroying it was a serious blow to the morale of the treacherous Rufus III defense forces during the initial assault. |
The squad is designated to serve as a reclusium honor guard accompanying interrogator chaplain Matariel who is going to meet up with the strike force upon return at the tower. That honor is well deserved, considering their inspiring achievements during a battle against a thousand sons raiding party in which they eliminated an entire squad of undead traitors as well as two obliterators. |
Lbrarian Aradiel Librarian Aradiel usually accompanies strike forces consisting entirely of members of the Deathwing. He is equipped with an ancient force axe and storm bolter. During the Rufus campaign he took part in two missions under the command of Master Memnon. Squad Gidian: Squad Gidian is equipped with an assault cannon and a chain fist. Like squad Aristophanes, squad Gidean prefers the Deathwing assault for deployment and is similarly successful in fighting heavily equipped infantry and tanks. During a fight against tyranids squad Gidian suffered heavy losses, but managed to slow down the swarm to give the squads Morael and Uzziel enough time to thin out the onrushing masses enough to enable a successful counter-assault by squad Hadariel. With most brethren equipped with lightning claws and accompanied by a brother wielding a heavy flamer and another brother with thunder hammer and storm shield, this squad is most often deployed teleporting nearly directly into the enemy lines, guided by the trustworthy teleport homers of the squads Donachiel and Casmaron. |
SQUAD TEMIEL |
Techmarine Yashiel Techmarine Yashiel seldom takes part in the actual fighting. He is responsible for the maintenance of the vehicles of the strike force, a task that required his undivided attention during the later stages of the campaign. His most outstanding contribution to the strike force is the construction of Carnifex, the Kerberos pattern predator fielded by Pugnus Leonis. Yashiel carries the traditional weapons of his office - power axe, servo arm and bolt pistol. He lost his left arm to the explosion of the plasma cannon in a Night Lords dreadnought that he demolished in close combat 15 years ago, so the arm was replaced by a bionic arm.
