Master Aias was a Brother Sgt in the 5th chapter of the Dark Angels Legion under the command of Master Astellan. He was born in holy Terra and he was one the first marines who followed the Emperor in his conquests. Under the banner of the 5th, Aias gained much honor as he followed Emperor across the galaxy. When the Primarch Lion el Johnson was rediscovered all of the Dark Angels rejoiced. But the future was tragic and doubts and suspicion filled the air after a few centuries. The "Terran" Chapters were held in distrust by the Primarch and his "Caliban" chapters and the situation deteriorated further when chapter master Astellan disobeyed an order from his Primarch to sacrifice innocent civilians to gain tactical advantage and he instead sacrificed his marines in order to protect the civilians. In this battle against the Orcs, Aias was in the Command Squad of Astellan and saved his life twice, distinguishing himself as he fought with exceptional bravery. The rage of the Primarch was great and the Chapter was sent back to Caliban. What things happened during the dark days of Horus Heresy and how the Dark Angels home world is better left untold. Aias found himself cast through the warp on the planet of Elefsis , now nothing more than a number "336"in the book that lists all of the "Fallen" Angels. Aias still wears the Dark Angels symbols, though in the manner of the old Legion and he replaced some of his older power armor parts with new ones. Until now he has escaped every attempt of the Dark angels to capture him, though the capture of his previous Chapter master Astellan was a terrible blow to him. Aias likes to display the feathers of slain by him Deathwing members in his power armor and weapons, something that intensifies the willingness of this formation to capture himNo one can say who bestowed the title "Master" to Aias but some rumors exist, supporting the theory that Cypher, the infamous leader of the fallen, found Aias, bestowed him the title "Master" and gave him the task to find more of the fallen brothers who are still loyal to the oaths they gave to their Emperor and train some of the new marines Cypher created with the gene seed he stole from a secret Dark Angels base. (This action is further described in the book "Angels of Darkness" by the radical Inquisitor Thorpe, now hunted for over a century by Deathwing and Ravenwing elements) |
