Creating this website and maintaining it with reasonably regular updates has been a very tedious though enjoyable task. It has taken much blood, sweat and tears, particularly the latter two, to reach its current state. Despite all the myriad troubles that seem to crop up at regular interval, one of the best outcomes is the feedback I receive from gamers who have enjoyed this site or newcomers who have been helped by the content. With my complete lack of html skills and no grounding in web creation I wanted to see how my site was rated. I gradually discovered the world of Web Awards. I discovered that not only are there numerous webmasters willing to rate and award deserving sites, their web awards but also that there are awrd rating sites and systems which rate such awards. Most of you may not aware of the complexity surrounding web award ratings. There are many award rating sites, which rate the hundreds of web awards available on the web. This provides a way of assessing how hard it is to obtain a particular web award. The two most common rating sites I visit are the "Webs Awards" and "Award Sites" . Secreted within this chamber are the numerous awards that have been bestowed upon this Fortress Web Site. As the keeper of the Fortress I am grateful not only to all those web masters who graciously presented this site with one of their awards, but also to those who took the time to glance through these walls, and gave me feedback. Many of the awards presented here were accumulated prior to the major rebuilding effort of this Fortress during its first revamp. Such an effort was partly due to the feedback obtained from those web masters. So thank you all! Apart from trying to obtain some measure of recognition for the long hours and hard work esconsed within this site, I felt that by having awards and links from sites that are not directly related to Warhammer 40,000, I may induce the curiosity of passers by, and thus recruit more fans for our great hobby. |

Some awards are sought after due to the difficulty in obtaining them while others are wanted for their beautiful graphics or the status of the web site awarding them. But often the most rewarding element is one that appears with no warning, and is related to acknowledgement from the gaming company that created this hobby and in the form of feedback from grateful gamers. These can be found in the "mention in the Despatches" and "Mail Bag" sections. The actual awards have been separated out in to different pages as shown below. The Rated awards are sorted initially according to their Award Sites rating. Awards which are not rated by Award Sites are sorted according to their Web Awards rating. |
