MENTION IN THE DESPATCHES

Creating and maintaining this website is indeed a tedious if not enjoyable task. I have passionately involved myself in every section of this web site and hope that passion and dedication shows in the end product. Apart from the sheer enjoyment of creating something new with a personal touch, one of the most rewarding features is the feedback some of the hobbyists and gamers send me. Some of these come in the way of comments in the guest book, while others are emailed to me directly.

I am most grateful to those who have showered words of encouragements in difficult times and I appreciate the kindness shown in most emails. However from time to time there occurs an event or feature that comes in the way of recognition from either a large segment of the gaming population or occasionally as a mention in one of the publications of Games Workshop itself. Small though these are, and rare be the ocasions, they provide me and other such web masters with tacit acknowledgement that our work has been appreciated. That is perhaps some of the best encouragement I have received to date. My humble thanks to those who were instrumental in the following mentions in the despatches.

In February 2002 the Dark Angel players reaped a great long awaited benefit for their intense patience. Andy Hoare published an update for the Codex Dark Angel which removed the numerous inconsistensies hat had plagued the third edition codex. Andy was good enough to involve the Dark Angel players from the B+C forum for feedback on his proposed rules changes and graciously accepted the cumulative advic that emanated from there. As one of the Dark Ange forum moderators at the B+C I acted as the liaison person between Andy Hoare and the members of the forum. I was most humbled to see my web name mentioned in this section along with that of the Bolter + Chainsword.

The year 2003 saw the largest world wide campaign hosted by Games Workshop in the form of the Eye of Terror campaign. Abaddon's Thirteenth Black crusade was  about to storm the Cadian Gate and the imperium prepared to weather the storm.

The Inner Circle was formed based on the Outpost club and the B+C Forum. We set about creating our own sub campaign and storyline to allow the Dark Angels players an additional piece of entertainment in the spirit of the Dark Angels

With over 400 dark Angel players registering for the campaign "The Gathering of Angels" was an unmitigated success and the best spin off was the narrative story of the same name.

We were extremely surprised when the post campaign summary appeared in White Dwarf 286. Although a small simple foot note for the imperium it was a major mark of recognition of the effort of the Inner Circle.

The 2004 was one of more surprises for the Fortress of the Unforgiven. Andy Hoare had been working on "The 13th Black Crusade" source book. The Inner Circl and the Fortress of the Unforgiven were taking a well deserved rest after the Eye of terror / Gathering of Angels Campaign. After all we had banished every vestige of the Chaos powers from the Caliban system and had re-established the rule of the Unforgiven there.

The storyline of the Gathering of Angels did have the unforgiven chapters making a hitherto unseen concentration of the Lion's projeny. Andy's mention of a similar task force once again humbles me. Much thanks go to him for this encouragement and so much more to the members of the Inner Circle, Owen Rees, ZeussS, Vet Sergeant Malyr, Nathan Bishop and Brandon Beacom.
