An extremely dedicated and distinguished Chaplain, even within the Dark Angels' high standards, is selected to lead the Redemptor squad.

Wargear: Crozius Arcanum of Longenesis, Rosarius, Purity Seals, Teleport Homer and Jump Pack.

Options: The Redemption-Chaplain may be given 50 pts. of wargear. Any weapon may be chosen to compliment the Crozius Arcanum except ranged weapons.

Special Rules:

"Honour of the Chapter" and "Litanies of Hate" -

The Lion's Pride: The Redemption-Chaplain is a pinion of the faith that is the Deathwing. It is he that heads the Chaplain council that hand picks the Redemption Squad from the Deathwing, and he that leads the Purists into combat. Their zeal for righteousness is only surpassed by the Chapter's Chaplains, fore they know the Chapter's honour will accept nothing but victory. To reperesent this the Redemption squad may re-roll any 1s rolled in close combat, as long as they are fighting against the Fallen, or a squad containing a character that has information leading to the Fallen.

Command Squad: Instead of a normal command squad the Redemption-Chaplain is always accompanied by a Redemption Squad that consists of between four and nine Redemption Purists.

Stubborn: The Redemption-Chaplain is a member of the Deathwing and is therefore stubborn. The Chaplain gains all the benefits from being stubborn as found in the Codex: Dark Angels, with a slight alteration. When engaged in close combat with a squad that does not contain the fallen or a character with information on where to find the fallen, the squad may elect to voluntarily fall back from combat, knowing that are needed elsewhere.

Crozius Arcanum of Longenesis:
This weapon was forged after the creation of the Redemption squad, and is used exclusively by the Redemption-Chaplain. It is a Crozius Arcanum that helps by modifying Cypher's special save. For each wound caused by the Crozius, it negatively modifies Cypher's 3d6 save by one. Eg. if one wound is caused, the save is 5+ on 3d6, if two wounds, 6+, etc.

Wargear: Power Weapon, Storm Shield, Terminator Honours, Jump Pack and Frag Grenades.

Command Squad: The Squad consists of between 4 and nine Redemption Purists. The Terminator Honours +1 Attack, as well as the 4+ Inv. Save from the Storm Shield has already be incorporated into the characteristics above.

Options: The entire squad can be equipped with krak grenades at +2 pts. per model and/or melta bombs at +4 pts. per model. Up to two models per squad can be equipped with a power fist at +10 pts.

Deep Strike: Space Marine models with jump packs may Deep Strike. See the Jump Pack rules in the wargear section for details.

Hunting the Fallen: The Redemption Squad was created to gather information on the fallen, and to hunt them down. Therefore, if the squad is chosen one enemy character is automatically in possession of information regarding the location of a fallen angel. That character then follows the rules under hunting the fallen located in Codex: Dark Angels. Also, the DA commander must still roll the d6 for hunting the fallen and if a 6 is rolled, another enemy character follows the same rules as given for hunting the fallen.

Cypher: As per rules stated in Codex: Dark Angels, but they relieve Deathwing models from their burden, allowing them to move freely. In short Deathwing models are no longer required to move 6" closer to Cypher during their movement phase. The Redemption Squad though must still move atleast 6" closer to Cypher every movement phase.

Better to die a Lion,..: If an enemy character with possession of information has gone unscathed - not captured or not engaged with the Redemption squad by the end of game - then the opponent recieves the d6x10 victory points. If a unit of fallen has gone unengaged, not only will the opponent recieve his d6x10 victory points per fallen angel, but victory points equalling the value of the squad, minus the Chaplain.
Dark Angel Redemptor Squad (0-1)
The Retribution's sole purpose is to hunt down the fallen. Members are hand picked for their righteous zeal by the Chapter's Chaplains. Their rage to be purged from the stain on the chapter's honour is barely controllable, and when engaged against the unholy they will stop at nothing to capture them.
