In the Napoleonic wars on Ancient Terra, as long lost historical archives describe, during the pre-machine gun era, Cavalry reigned supreme on the battlefields. Against infantry who could not form square in time, they would slaughter and massacre. Hereforth is a description of the Heavy Cavalry:
"They were big men on big horses, uniforms gleaming in the sun and pelisses flapping. They carried the straight-bladed Heavy Cavalry sword, a monster of a weapon, a butcher's blade, heavy, efficient, used for powerful downward cutting strokes that could split heads and sever limbs with little effort. They were terrifying on the charge, the bane of all men on foot. In defence they were mediocre, but heaven help the man who has to face down a Dragoon charge."
In the battlefields of the 41st millenium, flesh and blood have been replaced by steel and grease, and the Ravenwing are the Cavalry of the age. To which a representation of these mighty warriors is called for: thus born the Ravenwing Dragoons. |
