A variant of the standard core in the Assault Company force.
Squad: Must consist of 10 men including a sergeant. May be upgraded to vet sergeant & stubborn.
Weapons & Wargear: Bolt pistol & CCW; Frag Grenades.
Options: Up to two marines may replace their BP/CCW with plasmapistol/CCW, meltagun or Flamer.
The whole squad maybe armed with krak grenades and meltabombs.
Characters: The sergeant may be upgraded to veteran sergeant for +15 points. Veteran sergeants may have additional weapons and wargear from the Assault Company Armoury.
Transport: The unit must be deployed in a squad rhino at +60 points or be embarked in a LR leviathan bought as a heavy support choice. Rhino may replace the stormbolter with a heavy flamer at +10 points. Upgrades include extra armour, smoke dischargers and dozerblade.
Restriction: The unit may only used in ground assaults.
Design Comments: Advantage of protected advance over open ground, countered by the reduced movement of jump packless troops. They have an additional option of a special weapon but compensated by the ability to deploy only on ground assaults.
