9th RESERVE (DEVASTATOR) COMPANY
Devastator Company Commander
The Devastator Company forces may be led by one of the numerous commanders available. There are two ranks available, that of Master or Grandmaster.

Weapons & Wargear: The commander may take any item from the Devastator Company Armoury within the restrictions specified there.

Options: A Dark Angels Devastator company must be led by one of the independant characters noted above. It cannot be led by a master of the Deathwing or Ravenwing. The Master-Fabricator may take techmarine only wargear.

Independent Character: Unless accompanied by a command squad the Master counts as an independent character and follows the independent character special rules in the WH40,000 rulebook.

Command Squads: Any of the independant characters depicted above may be accompanied by a Devastator company command squad.

Deathwing: All Dark Angel independant characters are members of the inner circle (Deathwing) and are therefore stubborn.
Devastator Company Int-Chaplain
An assault company force may be led by an Interrogator-Chaplain.

Weapons & Wargear: The Interrogator-Chaplain is equipped with a crozius arcanum and a rosarius and may take any item from the Assault Company Armoury within the restrictions specified there.

Independent Character: The Interrogator-Chaplain counts as an independent character and follows the independent character special rules in the WH40,000 rulebook.

Command Squad: The Interrogator-Chaplain may not  be accompanied by a devastator company  Command Squad.

Deathwing: All Dark Angel independant characters are members of the inner circle (Deathwing) and are therefore stubborn.
Devastator Command Squad (0-1)

Refer to Codex Space Marines v 4.0, Codex Dark Angels v 2.0 and DA FAQ v 4.1. for points costs and description of Techmarines, Servitors and Space marine Devastators..
A Dark Angel Devastator Company commnder may be accompanied by a Devastator Company Command Squad.

Squad: Consists of 4-9 spacemarines. May only accompany the 9th company commander.

Weapons & Wargear: Bolt pistol & CCW; Frag and Blind Grenades.

Options: Up to 4 marines may be armed with devastator heavy weapons at the following cost. Lascannon +25; Plasmacannon; +25; Missile Launcher + 15; Heavybolter +10.

Techmarine Upgrades: Up to two marines may be upgraded to techmarines. Techmarines are non-independent characters and may be given wargear as per C:SM. Each techmarine maybe accompanied by a battery of two tarantulas crewed by servitors.

Only one signum may be taken in the squad.

Each techmarine, if equipped with a Fire-Director at +20 points, may elect to target his tarantula battery independent to the rest of the squad.

Characters: Veteran sergeants may have additional weapons and wargear from the Devastator Company Armoury. One Dark Angel spacemarine may each be upgraded to an Apothecary or Standard bearer each of whom may be given appropriate wargear from the Dark Angel armoury.

The Apothecary and Techmarine may not be assigned away from the command squad. This rule overrides the Chapter Approved Command Squad rules. They must remain as part of that unit for the rest of the game.

Transport: The entire squad may be mounted in a Land Raider Prometheus for 270 points.
Design Comments:
The HQ choices are pretty standard. The master fabricator is really a techmarine with a leaders' stats and access to techmarine wargear. The command squad is designed as an all powerful shooty unit as benefits such a role in battle. It is flexible with the possibility of targeting up to three separate targets, and access to atleast 2 tarantula batteries. However the balance comes from being only available to the master, additional cost for every ability (tarantulas, signums, fire-directors) and restrictions posed on other units in the list.
