Commander of Supplies Mephistophel Command Title: Grandmaster of Victuals Honorific Title: Provider of life Overview An army marches on its stomach said a great historian in old terra millennia ago. Despite the advanced technology of the Astartes, supplies and provisions are the essence of successful battle. This command is tasked with every aspect of supplying Dark Angel forces as well as the fortress monastery itself. Complement Grandmaster of Victuals Mephistophel, Provider of Life Lexmechanics 12 Scribe-serfs 8 Servitor Scribes 10 Another mundane command at first glance, but an extremely important one. This is yet another command reserved for the aged or infirm grandmaster, but one who has the maturity and understanding of strategic planning. This has profound implications as the inconsistencies of warp travel dictates that supply fleets may arrive well before or be delayed far too long than the battle fleets. Thus accurate planning and supply allocation becomes and intricate art. Since this command simply details the planning aspect of supplies, its resources are appropriately small but its impact great in any campaign. Duties Another non-combatant command, but related to combat in a myriad of ways. Their duty is essentially that of maintaining adequate supplies and provisions to any dark Angel force in need. Provisioning the Fortress The long term planning and adequate provisioning of the Tower of Angels is the prime function. This includes the acquisition of food rations, minerals and raw materials for the Fabricius Mortis, medicines and associated essentials for the Apothecarium Medicor and war materials from the Adeptus Mechanicus. Strike Force Supplies Any Dark Angel strike force or mission that leaves the fortress monastery is accompanied by adequate supplies provided by this command. Matching the requests of the commanders with the release of items by the various other commands, the Commeatus Consul calculates, projects a safety margin and then provides the essentials. |
